Founded in 1999, The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County is committed to enabling all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our Club is affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a nationwide movement of community-based, autonomous organizations working to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. We offer daily access to a broad range of programs that promote academic success, cultivate healthy lifestyles and nurture good character and citizenship.

Director of Resource Development

At the Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County, we believe every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and belong. Each day, nearly 300 young people walk through our doors and discover caring mentors, life-changing opportunities, and a community that believes in them.

We are in an exciting and transformational moment—expanding our campus, opening new spaces for teens, and shaping the future for the next generation. To help lead this effort, we are seeking a Director of Resource Development who is passionate about our mission and able to take our development efforts to the next level as we expand. This role isn’t just about raising funds—it’s about building relationships, sharing stories of impact, and connecting our community to the work that changes kids’ lives.

The key responsibilities of this position are developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan that supports both daily operations and long-term growth initiatives; building and sustaining relationships with donors, businesses, foundations, and community partners, ensuring they feel connected to the mission; sharing the Club’s story through compelling appeals, campaigns, events, and one-on-one engagement; leading donor stewardship and recognition efforts to ensure supporters feel valued and engaged; maintaining accurate donor records along with tracking progress toward fundraising goals, and celebrating milestones; and representing the Club at community events and serving as a visible ambassador for youth in Transylvania County.

The qualifications & skills for this position are 3–5 years of experience in fundraising or development, with proven success in securing gifts, building partnerships, and developing initiatives; strong relationship-building skills - a connector who enjoys inspiring others to support meaningful work; excellent communication skills where storytelling, writing appeals, and public speaking come naturally; highly organized and dependable, able to manage details while keeping the big mission in focus; creative, energetic, and deeply committed to the potential of every child; and leadership skills to guide and inspire both colleagues and volunteers.
