The campaign slogan Building a Place to Belong was strategically selected to highlight our focus on building connections with the youth in our community.

We know that these relationships, coupled with outcome-based programs, lead our Club members and their families to purpose, confidence, and belonging.

An expanded Clubhouse and a home for our teens…

The Cindy Platt Boys & Girls Club of Transylvania County is embarking on Building a Place to Belong - its most ambitious growth initiative since the Club’s inception in 1999. The recent pandemic has caused our children periods of unhealthy isolation, declines in academic performance, and increasing mental health issues. Today, Transylvania County’s most vulnerable populations remain at risk.

Through this significant campus expansion outlined within, the Club can ‘move the needle’ for our most treasured and vulnerable population: our kids and teens. Across the county, school leaders, counselors, and youth advocates have expressed concerns for the physical and mental well-being of our youth. With limited resources and resources disproportionately distributed throughout the county, many parents and caregivers are left with few options to ensure their children’s safety and to productively fill their time after school.

Please read our plans to double our impact, eliminate our current waitlist for services, and invest in our teens’ futures. With plans to serve 25% of the county’s school-aged population annually, we are confident that this expansion will have a significant community impact now and into the future.
